Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are working with a well-established contractor to find an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join its team in Scotland. This role will be predominately site based and will support projects mainly across the Central Belt. It offers a great opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of commercial responsibilities and being closely involved in project delivery.

This is a strong opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who wants to work in a busy, collaborative environment. You’ll work closely with operational and senior commercial teams, helping to protect margins, manage subcontractor accounts, and keep commercial reporting accurate throughout the project lifecycle.

You’ll be involved across a broad selection for projects including public sector buildings and heavy industrial facilities, supporting delivery from procurement through to final account. 

• Supporting day-to-day commercial management across one or more projects.
• Assisting with cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
• Managing subcontractor procurement, valuations, variations, and payment applications.
• Contributing to monthly cost/value reconciliations.
• Working closely with site and project teams to support delivery and commercial performance.

What we’re looking for

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor or similar construction environment.
• A solid understanding of measurement, valuation, and standard forms of contract.
• Strong numerical and analytical ability, with good attention to detail.
• A proactive, collaborative approach and the confidence to work across project teams.
• Good communication skills and competence with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.
