Senior Quantity Surveyor

Job description:

Clearfield Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to oversee the commercial management of construction projects involving the conversion of existing office buildings into residential accommodation, based in Felixstowe.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute individual to take responsibility for multiple projects, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration and successful commercial delivery from inception through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the commercial management of office-to-residential conversion projects.
• Manage project budgets, cost plans, forecasts and financial reporting.
• Lead subcontractor procurement, tendering, valuations and final accounts.
• Monitor variations, contractual changes and compensation events.
• Identify commercial risks and implement cost-saving opportunities.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, clients and consultants.
• Ensure projects are delivered within budget and in line with contractual requirements.
• Provide commercial guidance and support to project teams throughout the construction process.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within the construction industry.
• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge.
• Experience managing refurbishment, redevelopment or office-to-residential conversion projects would be advantageous.
• Excellent negotiation, analytical and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively with site-based teams.
• Relevant Quantity Surveying qualification or equivalent experience.
