We are searching for an experienced and motivated Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic commercial team within a fast-paced rail, civils, and buildings asset management framework (CP7). Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be integral to the regional framework delivery team, focusing on rail infrastructure asset maintenance, including buildings and civil engineering maintenance remits, while also offering support across various projects within the North West andamp; Central region. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Timely presentation of all payment applications, ensuring all contractual entitlements are well-documented.
Guaranteeing payments are received according to the contract terms.
Promptly submitting estimates and tendering information to clients.
Preparing and negotiating Final Accounts, ensuring all contractual entitlements are addressed.
Delivering weekly cost/value information, delivery schedules, and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data.
Preparing Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts.
Developing forward work schedules and cash flows.
Managing procurement, negotiation, and placement of subcontract orders.
Leading financial and commercial management of subcontractors through to the settlement of their Final Accounts.
Ensuring all contractual letters, notices, and information comply with contract requirements.
Documenting support for additional payments, variations, claims, etc.
Providing commercial support to site and contracts management teams, as well as the Estimating and Procurement teams.
Overseeing and mentoring Quantity Surveyors in training, as needed.
Maintaining close communication with the client on all commercial matters, including preparing and submitting supporting information.
Executing other tasks as authorised by line management.
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you should meet the following criteria:
Significant experience as a Managing or Senior Quantity Surveyor within a rail and / or civil engineering asset maintenance environment, preferably working for a main contractor.
A relevant degree level qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.
Practical experience with civil engineering projects and maintenance.
Familiarity with NEC or bespoke Network Rail forms of contract.
Proven experience working at minimum Senior Quantity Surveyor level in a contractor organisation.
