Senior Quality Engineer

Are you an experienced Quality Engineer with a strong background in manufacturing and quality management systems?

Do you have experience leading root cause investigations, corrective actions and continuous improvement across a manufacturing environment?

If so, TXM Recruit are sourcing a Senior Quality Engineer for an established engineering and manufacturing organisation based in Normanton, West Yorkshire. This is a full time position paying up to -50,000 per annum (depending on experience), working site-based Monday to Friday.

Working closely with the Quality Manager, you will take ownership of key quality improvement activities across the site, leading problem solving, customer quality issues, corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a hands-on position suited to someone who enjoys working closely with Operations and Engineering teams to identify issues, implement corrective actions and deliver measurable improvements.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of site quality performance and improvement activities.
• Lead investigations into customer complaints, non-conformances and recurring quality issues.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Drive improvements in defects, scrap, rework and customer satisfaction.
• Support Production, Engineering and Procurement teams with quality issues.
• Lead or support FMEA, FAI, Control Plans and validation activities.
• Support internal, customer and certification audits.
• Analyse quality data and lead improvement actions.
• Maintain compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements.
• Develop and standardise quality processes across the site.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to quality personnel.

Skills & Experience

• Significant experience in Quality Engineering, Quality Assurance or Quality Management within manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and Quality Management Systems.
• Experience managing complaints, non-conformances, corrective actions and root cause investigations.
• Proven experience delivering continuous improvement and measurable quality improvements.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across Operations, Engineering and Supply Chain.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of quality performance.
• Experience in rail, aerospace, electronics or other regulated manufacturing environments desirable.
• Experience with audits, FMEA, Control Plans, FAI and validation activities advantageous.
• Knowledge of IRIS, CoPQ and ERP systems, ideally Epicor, would be beneficial.

Qualifications
- HNC/HND, Degree or equivalent practical experience in Engineering, Quality or a related discipline.
- Internal Auditor qualification or relevant auditing experience.
- ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, CQI, CQP, Six Sigma or other recognised quality qualifications would be advantageous.
