We are seeking a Technical Assessor with experience in manufacturing coke oven products.

As an external Technical Assessor, you will play a crucial role in the UKAS assessment process, providing expertise to ensure robust evaluations in Coke and Refinery sectors.

Responsibilities include:

Manufacturing of coke oven products, including coke, semi-coke, pitch, oven gas, crude coal, lignite tars, and coke agglomeration.

Understanding of coke and refined petroleum product manufacturing, environmental impacts, and legislation.

Production of motor fuels like gasoline and kerosene.

Production of fuels such as light, medium, and heavy fuel oils, and refinery gases.

Manufacture of petrochemical and road covering products.

Petroleum briquettes production and biofuel blending.

On-site appreciation areas:

Carbonisation processes

Distillation of tar from lignite

Mineral oil production and safety

Coke production processes

Coke oven gas and by-products

Crude coal production

Environmental legislation and impacts

Candidates should possess a degree in organic chemistry or extensive relevant experience.
