We are seeking a Technical Assessor with experience in manufacturing coke oven products. External Technical Assessors play a vital role in the UKAS assessment process, providing expertise to ensure robust evaluations in Coke and Refinery sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess manufacturing processes of coke oven products, coke, semi-coke, pitch, oven gas, crude coal, lignite tars, and coke agglomeration.

Understand manufacturing of coke and refined petroleum products, including environmental impacts.

Evaluate production of motor fuels, gasoline, kerosene, and refinery gases such as ethane, propane, butane.

Assess manufacture of oil-based products for petrochemicals and road coverings, including petroleum briquettes and biofuel blending.

Gain on-site understanding of processes like carbonisation, distillation of tar from lignite, mineral oil production, coke oven gases, and by-products.

Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and environmental legislation.

Qualifications:Degree in organic chemistry preferred; extensive experience in the field will also be considered.
