Senior QA Automation Engineer Contract Remote / Occasional office visit £500 per day Outside IR35 September start Initial 3 Months A cutting-edge trading technology team are seeking an experienced Senior QA Automation Engineer to join an Agile delivery function where quality, automation and innovation drive success. You''ll play a key role in testing a new trading algorithm, API integrations, and backend services, ensuring seamless performance through robust automation, exploratory testing, and CI/CD best practices. Key Skills Required Proven experience as an Automation Test Engineer / SDET. Strong hands-on API testing experience (REST) - request/response validation, status codes, payload assertions, contract testing. Solid exposure to .NET backends. Strong automation with Playwright using C# .NET Experience writing clear, maintainable test frameworks (e.g. Page Object Model, fixtures, reusable utilities). Experience with Azure DevOps or an equivalent (test case management, pipelines/CI). Strong grasp of the software testing lifecycle, test design techniques, and Agile ways of working. Good understanding of testing React / single-page / wizard-style web applications. Excellent communication skills and attention to detail, particularly around cross-team API contract clarity given a new external team will consume this API.
