Role description: We are growing our project management capability within our UK Defence team.Responsibilities

Manage core projects or programmes of work to deliver defined objectives.Deliver your scope of work in line with budgetary, compliance, regulatory and planning controls, and apply technical knowledge and broad business experience.Oversee an agreed scope of work or the operational workload of a team or contractors; ensure allocated work is completed and resources are fully utilised to deliver against an agreed programme.Work within established financial systems to independently produce plans and schedules, track and manage budgets, and highlight variances to control delivery targets.Deliver a number of small to medium scale projects or programmes within set deadlines and budgets.Present project risks or issues to senior managers to ensure compliant delivery and minimise impact.Provide advice on internal and external compliance processes and behaviours.Analyse data to identify themes and trends; use insights to support project decision-making.Review and analyse project processes and policies to provide recommendations that support management to improve processes and systems.Collaborate across the organisation to support delivery that meets internal customer expectations.Advise senior management on project issues to support successful delivery in line with objectives and strategies.Liaise with clients and stakeholders to keep all parties informed of project progress and expectations.Qualifications and Experience

Ability to actively support the internal team and manage more junior staff on technically complex projects/programmes typically ranging between £5m and £150m.Setting project delivery approach and plan in consultation with key stakeholders.Establishing project delivery plans and appropriate control mechanisms to assure delivery.Performance management of project team/resources.Required

Experience of coaching and mentoring more junior colleagues and emerging leadership skills.Experience of working with external stakeholders to build client relationships.Experience in managing business relationships at middle-management level.Capable of taking a project through from inception to completion.Ability to obtain BPSS clearance.Advantageous

Experience in NEC Contract Suites.In-depth knowledge of the Defence and Security sector (desirable but not essential).Ability to obtain SC clearance.Ability to obtain DV clearance.Seniority level
