Senior Project Manager Construction Consultancy

A growing construction consultancy in Manchester is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join its established team. This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Project Manager who can independently lead projects and wants to join a personable friendly team.

The Senior Project Manager will take ownership of commissions from inception through to completion, working across healthcare, education, local authority, and wider public sector projects. This Senior Project Manager role would suit an experienced Senior Project Manager who enjoys being hands-on, managing complex stakeholders, and leading multidisciplinary teams. The successful Senior Project Manager will have autonomy over their projects while working alongside an experienced Manchester team.

You must have prior construction consultancy experience to be considered for this role.

The Senior Project Manager will independently lead public sector projects through feasibility, design, procurement, construction, handover, and close-out.

The Senior Project Manager will manage programmes, procurement, consultant teams, contracts, risk, change control, reporting, and stakeholder engagement.

The Senior Project Manager will chair meetings, manage contractor performance, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and provide clear professional advice to clients. The emphasis of this position is on successfully delivering projects, with the Senior Project Manager remaining closely involved throughout each commission.

The successful Senior Project Manager will have:

• Prior experience within a construction consultancy
• Proven ability to independently deliver multiple projects
• Experience across healthcare, education, local authority, or wider public sector projects would be beneficial
• A degree in Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Surveying, or a related discipline
• MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB, or another relevant professional qualification
• Strong knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Excellent client-facing and stakeholder management skills
• Experience leading multidisciplinary consultant teams
• A hands-on approach with a strong focus on project delivery
• Strong commercial, communication, and organisational skills
