This role focuses on highways or local transport project management, delivering civil and structural designs across a broad range of projects, including new builds, renewal, maintenance, and assessment works. The position offers flexible and remote working as part of our culture, with office attendance two days per week and travel to suit client and project needs.Your purpose is to lead and deliver projects successfully, supporting both technical and commercial outcomes while developing your team and contributing to a positive and safe project environment.
Responsibilities
Responsible for the safe delivery of the project to the agreed schedule, budget, scope, and quality, and for the safety and welfare of staff on the project.
Responsible for the successful technical and commercial delivery of the project in accordance with AtkinsRéalis governance requirements.
Provide bid phase support as a Bid Manager on medium to small projects.
Deliver project management and contract administration throughout the project life cycle.
Ensure a common understanding of requirements, scope, schedule, costs, constraints, risk, and interfaces across the team.
Lead the project team—building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.
Communicate, liaise, and engage with the client on a project-by-project basis.
Deliver governance arrangements for projects within corporate policies, directives, guidance, and procedures to ensure a robust outcome.
Manage approved sub-contractor procurement processes.
Deliver projects in alignment with AtkinsRéalis Values: Safety, Integrity, Collaboration, and Innovation.
What You Can Bring
Experience deploying various forms of construction contracts, in particular NEC3 or NEC4 and/or bespoke contracts.
Experience working closely with multi-disciplinary design teams.
Ability to understand clients’ requirements and lead a delivery team in a positive, confident manner.
Excellent interpersonal skills with sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness to deliver profits.
Aptitude for work winning through strong service delivery and knowledge of bid processes and pricing models.
Understanding of digital tools, Common Data Environments, and BIM.
Proactive and flexible attitude, adaptable to challenges and changing needs.
