Senior Project Engineer

Overview
We are currently looking for a technically minded Senior Project Engineer to join a well-established and successful market leading company based in Bedfordshire that is working on the development of innovative special purpose equipment within a low volume manufacturing environment.The business is expanding so the Senior Project Engineer will join the Projects Team reporting to the Senior Project Manager on site. The Senior Project Engineer will take responsibility for contracts from the receipt of order and handover from the Sales team through to successful install and handover. Thus, you will get the opportunity to work closely with the clients and foster excellent relationships whilst ensuring all staff are aware of the project requirements and timescales.This role would be suited to an experienced Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer with a strong technical background but also the commercial awareness to be the go-to contact for the client throughout the entire project life-cycle. Having a background within food processes would be a distinct advantage, however someone with experience working within special purpose machinery systems would definitely be valuable!This is truly an excellent opportunity to join this fantastic company that offers the full design, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of turnkey solutions to both independent manufacturers and household brands!
Salary and location
Bedfordshire£50k-£55k (dependent on experience) + bonus and benefits
Key responsibilities
Take responsibility for contracts from receipt of order through to successful install and handover.Work closely with clients and maintain strong relationships while communicating project requirements and timescales to staff.Act as the primary client contact across the project life-cycle with strong commercial awareness.Collaborate with the Projects Team and report to the Senior Project Manager.
Required skills and qualifications
Recent and relevant experience in a similar role within special purpose machinery/manufacturing.Strong commercial awareness and client contact.Full project life-cycle knowledge.Understanding of Health and Safety legislation applicable to industrial machinery equipment and installations.AutoCAD experience would be beneficial.Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, steam services and fluid mechanics; a basic understanding of electrical control systems is advantageous.UK Driving Licence required.
