Senior Product Safety Engineer

Overview:

Our client is seeking an experienced-Senior Product Safety Engineer-to lead Product and System Safety Assurance across complex engineering-programmes.-You''ll-play a key role in ensuring products are safe, compliant, and certifiable, while influencing safety throughout the design lifecycle.-

Working within the Supportability Engineering team,-you''ll-lead safety activities across bids and projects, manage safety documentation, conduct hazard analysis, and engage with internal teams, customers, and external stakeholders.

Responsibiities:-

• Lead Product and System Safety activities across multiple projects.

• Develop and implement Safety Management Plans and Safety Management Systems.

• Conduct hazard identification, risk assessments, and Safety Case development.

• Maintain Hazard Logs and ensure compliance with legislative and contractual requirements.

• Provide Product Safety input into bids and proposals.

• Produce technical reports and present safety findings to stakeholders.

• Lead Safety Working Groups and collaborate with customers and suppliers.

• Drive continuous improvement of Product Safety processes and best practices.

• Manage and coordinate internal teams and subcontracted safety activities where-required.

Essential Requirements:

• Proven experience in-Product Safety Engineering-within complex engineering environments (Defence-experience highly desirable).

• Strong background in:-Safety Analysis, Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, Safety Case development

• Knowledge of relevant standards including:- Def Stan 00-056, DSA02-DMR , IEC 61508

• Understanding of-CE/UKCA compliance.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience leading engineering teams and managing technical deliverables.

• Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Science, or equivalent experience.

• Sole UK National eligible for-SC Security Clearance-(DV-advantageous).

Desirable:-

• Chartered Engineer (or working towards Chartership).

• Previous-experience within the-Maritime-sector.
