Senior Procurement Specialist Type - Permanent Location - Peterborough (Hybrid 2/3 days office based) Salary - TBC Depending on experienceThe OpportunityAn exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join a leading organisation supporting the delivery of a major UK infrastructure programme.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage a portfolio of procurement projects, ensuring delivery against programme objectives, timescales, budget and governance requirements.Develop and implement procurement and category strategies aligned to business needs.Manage end-to-end sourcing activities, including tendering, evaluation and contract award processes.Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers and contractors.Build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.Utilise market intelligence and category expertise to identify opportunities, mitigate risks and improve outcomes.Analyse procurement and market data to support forecasting and strategic decision-making.Support contract management and supplier performance activities post-award.Contribute to supplier relationship management and supplier exit planning where required.Ensure all procurement activity complies with relevant legislation, policies and governance frameworks.Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation and reporting.Support and mentor colleagues, promoting procurement excellence and continuous improvement.
