The Energy Unit, specifically the Nuclear, Defence and Civil division, is looking to recruit a Senior Principal Safety Case Engineer to join our team. The role covers nuclear power generation, the naval nuclear programme and decommissioning. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team with opportunities for career progression and to make an impact on the development of the Energy landscape.For this role you will be expected to demonstrate knowledge/experience in one or more of the following areas:Safety Case Production (e.g. SJP, PCSR, PCmSR, PRS)Modification/ Design Change Submissions (LC/AC 22)DecommissioningFunctional Safety AssessmentRegulatory InterfaceALARP AssessmentSafety and Risk AssessmentDeterministic Safety AssessmentProbabilistic Safety AssessmentNuclear Safety Legislation, Regulation and PolicyEngineering SubstantiationHAZOP and other identification studiesHAZANCriticalityNuclear FireCandidate Specification
Degree qualified in a Science, Technology or Engineering disciplineExperience in the nuclear or defence industries (applications from other high-hazard industries will be considered)Chartered Engineer or working towardsAbility to demonstrate successful delivery of nuclear safety deliverables and strategy on complex projectsWilling to develop and mentor more junior members of staffIf you meet 80% or more of what we’re looking for, please still apply.
