Pell Frischmann .Based in our Manchester office, you will be part of a hardworking and growing team of Transport and Infrastructure Engineers/Consultants. Our office is based in an excellent location within easy reach of the local stations, with parking easily available nearby. You will be part of a wider National team to help drive successful delivery of projects and uphold our core business values.We work on projects across the country with the Wider Transport and Infrastructure Team, currently managing a diverse portfolio including local authority frameworks, active travel, infrastructure development (S278, S38, S104), mixed-use residential developments, flood risk assessments, and technical and construction assurance.Main Duties And Responsibilities
Implement project requirements to fully meet the client specification in accordance with relevant standardsCollate project information, liaise with clients and third parties as requiredSupervise site-based projects as requiredLead project delivery and supervise/delegate to junior staff and others as requiredCheck/approve own and other staff work, including third party design proposalsIntegrate into an established team and drive the team cultureWhat Qualifications, Experience and Skills are required
Essential
BEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering (or equivalent)Association of Project Management Qualification (or equivalent)Professional membership or accreditation to ICE, CIHT or APMExperience
Significant experience in engineering and design management of projects to time, cost and qualityProven experience in highway design, construction, and supervisionKnowledge of highway design standards, construction practices, asset management, and relevant legislationStrong Health and Safety understanding including CDM responsibilitiesDay to day management and leadership of project design including oversight of designs produced by consultants and input from other disciplinesDevelopment of design solutions to traffic/local road problems (alignment, drainage, pavement, Road Restraint System, signs and markings)Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skillsClient liaison and managementUse of Common Data Environments and BIM levels and strategyAutoCAD and Civils 3D for horizontal and vertical alignment designSinging and Lining designs to TSRGDPavement and footway designsDrainage designSkills
Ability to work under pressure with good organisational skills to plan and manage a complex workload with shifting deadlinesExperience in a fast-paced design and project/programme management environment, delivering sustainable results in a large organisationStrong analytical and problem-solving skills for outcomes-focused solutions to complex situationsAbility to design highway engineering solutions and use modelling/analysis softwareDevelopment of Highways SpecificationsCivils 3DExperience with drainage design and analytical modelling tools (desirable)Clear, confident communication to explain complex data to non-specialistsCommitment to continuous professional development and embodying organisational valuesExperience managing project workloads, finances, and ensuring compliance with briefs and budgetsDevelopment of Highways Specifications including MCHWUtility coordination and clash detectionManagement of project teamsExperience mentoring and developing less experienced staffSound understanding of commercial management and business focusWhy Pell Frischmann?
