Operating across a wide geographic region, the team works on a diverse portfolio of projects ranging from small private developments to large-scale infrastructure and housing schemes.Your new roleAs a Senior Ecologist, you''ll take on a leadership role within the consultancy, supporting both clients and junior team members. Key responsibilities include:Mentoring and managing junior ecologistsLeading ecological surveys and assessments (e.g., UKHab, protected species, EcIA)Providing ecological advice across internal teams and to external clientsManaging projects and producing technical reports and ecological management plansLiaising with stakeholders and regulatory bodiesEnsuring compliance with relevant legislation and best practice

What you''ll need to succeedMinimum 5 years'' experience in ecological consultancyAt least one protected species licenceFull membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., CIEEM - desirable)Strong skills in habitat and protected species surveys (PEA, UKHab, BNG, bats, badger, water vole, etc.)Excellent communication and report-writing skillsExperience preparing fee proposals and risk assessmentsAbility to manage and analyse ecological dataFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
