Overview

Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support. We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people. The role is based at The Greens, Sheffield, S5 8BU with a rota-based pattern including weekends and bank holidays.Location details: The Greens, Sheffield, South Yorkshire.Senior Practitioner, Full time, Permanent - 37 hours per week. Location: The Greens, Sheffield, S5 8BU. An opportunity has arisen to support Waythrough’s service delivery at The Greens. The service is a modern accommodation and drug and alcohol free support service that helps people build independence and move on. We help people develop skills such as managing money, healthy eating, sustaining recovery, accommodation support, one-to-one and group programmes, and improving mental and physical health. The role is to work as part of a team to provide support and enhanced housing management to service users of The Greens to help them live independently and progress towards sustained recovery, including helping manage Recovery Beds where clients can detox in a recovery community.Please note:

Weekend working will be necessary to supervise weekend staff, on a rota basis during the week (shifts: 2 weeks 9–5, 1 week 8–4, 1 week 12–8). A day off in the week will be taken to accommodate weekend work. This is negotiable. Support Saturday and Sunday 8am–4pm and focus on meeting Service users’ needs, supporting daytime staff, and ensuring clients are safe while organising activities that support residents’ recovery needs.Responsibilities

Manage recovery beds with regular client check-ins, ensuring a daily programme and attendance at detox panel meetingsData input and management across systems including System 1, Proactis, and internal systemsOversee health and safety of the projectLead team meetings and service user meetings; take minutes and actions in collaboration with administrative staff and ManagerAssist with rent processes, ordering of goods, petty cash, and cash recordingLiaise with council and partners to manage referral processes and maximise occupancyProvide support and supervision for evening and weekend staffFacilitate staff and resident meetings and deliver group programmesOrganise events and activities for residents (e.g., mindfulness, relaxation, outdoor activities)What we offer

Salary information: The salary advertised demonstrates the full earning potential for this role; starting salaries will allow for pay progression within the pay band.
