Our client Birmingham''s Children''s Trust is looking for a Senior Practitioner to join their Family Help service.Job PurposeTo provide a high-quality, statutory social work service within the Family Help model, working collaboratively with children, young people, and their families to safeguard and promote welfare, reduce risk, and achieve sustainable outcomes.The postholder will hold a caseload of children and families requiring targeted early help, statutory assessment, or Child in Need (CIN) planning, ensuring interventions are timely, strengths-based, and trauma-informed, aligned to the Family Help approach. Key Responsibilities1. Case Management and Statutory DutiesManage a diverse caseload including: Child in Need (Section 17)Pre-proceedings / Public Law Outline (where applicable)Step-up cases requiring safeguarding oversightComplete high-quality statutory assessments, including: Children and Families AssessmentsRisk assessments and safety plansTake appropriate action where there are safeguarding concerns, including escalation in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children.Ensure all interventions prioritise the child''s safety, welfare, and development. 2. Direct Work with Children and FamiliesBuild purposeful, professional relationships with children and families using a strengths-based and relationship-focused approach.
