About the Role
The Senior Plugging and Abandonment (PandA) role in Aberdeen involves reviewing historical well records for a North Sea platform, including subsea tiebacks and legacy wells. You will produce a Well Engineering Summary Pack containing Well Status Diagrams and summary tables. This contract position offers a daily rate between £350 and £800. Candidates should possess over three years of North Sea experience, ideally as a well engineer. Key duties include interpreting drilling reports, understanding subsurface design inputs, and applying abandonment philosophy alongside UK guidelines. A solid grasp of platform, subsea, and subsurface terminology is essential, as is the ability to create clear, concise diagrams.
Experienced Well Abandonment or Senior PandA Well Engineer, ideally with North Sea exposure required to review historic well records and generate a Well Engineering Summary Pack including Well Status Diagrams and summary tables for a North Sea Platform, associated subsea tieback developments and legacy EandA wells.
You are likely to be a well engineer with over three years North Sea experience and good understanding of platform well, subsea well and subsurface terminology and significance.
Responsibilities
Interpret drilling reports and other well records with understanding of the potential implications of significant events.
Understand relevance of subsurface data design inputs, general abandonment design philosophy and UK industry guidelines.
Generate basic but clear Well Status Diagrams in Excel, with emphasis on demonstrating barrier quality.
Assess leak risk for each barrier based on historic data
Relate abandonment designs and quality to field wide wellbore penetration plumbing diagram and potential impacts on subsurface assumptions for crossflow.
