Senior Planning Engineer

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Planning Engineer to join a leading consultancy supporting major programmes within the nuclear sector. Working as part of an established Project Controls team, you''ll take responsibility for developing and maintaining complex project schedules, providing the accurate planning and performance information needed to support successful delivery across high-value engineering projects.

This position would suit an experienced Planner with a strong background in Project Controls and Primavera P6, ideally gained within nuclear, defence, energy, infrastructure or another highly regulated environment. It will appeal to someone who enjoys getting into the detail of complex schedules while also working closely with Project Managers and senior stakeholders to identify issues and keep projects on track.

Key Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, ensuring alignment with scope, cost, risk and project objectives
* Analyse critical paths, float, constraints and schedule performance, identifying potential delays and recommending appropriate recovery actions
* Monitor project progress, maintain Integrated Master Schedules and provide accurate reporting against key milestones and KPIs
* Support Project Managers with planning, forecasting, change control and Earned Value Management (EVM) across complex work packages
* Provide planning leadership across projects, supporting and mentoring junior planners while working closely with wider Project Controls teams

This is a hybrid position requiring three days per week in the client office. Strong Primavera P6 experience and a background in project planning/scheduling are essential, while nuclear experience and knowledge of NEC or FIDIC contracts would be highly advantageous. Candidates must also be eligible to obtain BPSS security clearance.
