You will Lead the Planning for VolkerStevin, VolkerGroundEngineering and VolkerTrenchlessSolutions.Under the supervision of the Planning Manager and Project lead to be responsible for implementing the requirements of the project planning/programme requirements in accordance with the VolkerStevin Planning Standards, ensuring compliance with the business management systems. The role may also have aspects of team management as and when required.Responsible at

TENDER STAG E to the Planning Manager and Bid Manager for the range of activities involved in the project planning life cycle, which includes:Ensuring that the programme content is functionally compliant with the planning procedures and guidanceIdentifying planning scope, programme constraints and contract requirementsIdentifying major quantities and factors that may affect the programmeEstablishing and agreeing construction outputs, project calendars and working hours with operational support and EstimatorDevelop key methods of construction, sequencing, installation and commissioning works and agree with operational support and the Bid TeamProducing and documenting the planning deliverables including tender planning worksheet, presentations, reports and drive the planning philosophy/strategyProduce the Tender Programme and supporting information in accordance with the tender requirementsActively value engineering alternatives and identify risks/opportunitiesGeneration of time risk quantum and strategy for delivery stage for approval by the Planning Manager/Bid ManagerReconciling VolkerStevin and sub-contract plant/labour and major material elements with the EstimatorApply resource levelling techniques during programme production for labour, plant and materialsEffectively communicates the planning and programme elements at the tender handover meetingIn addition to the above, at

CONTRACT STAGE

the Planner is accountable to the Planning Manager and Project Lead for:Ensuring that the Contract Programme is produced, managed and maintained in accordance with the VolkerStevin Planning StandardsThe overall planning strategy and the timing/sequence of the contract programme activitiesMaintaining the planning deliverables in the timeframe agreed with the Project Team. These include monthly contract programme updates, monthly programme reporting and submission documentationThe issue and communication of the Contract Programme to the Project Lead for onward issue to Client and Project TeamEnsuring that all other planning and programming necessary for the execution of the contract is properly undertakenLead the collaborative planning sessions with the project teamSet up appropriate programme metrics to assist the delivery team to deliver the project timely, safely, to the correct quality and demonstrate improved productivityDrive change control and recovery through the administration of the contract requirementsActively manage production of as built data to update progress and productivity metrics to include in progress updatesAnalyse productivity trends and use to influence the forward planning of the projectImplement the time risk strategy through out delivery in accordance with the agreed planning strategyExpedite the production of change programmes and drive resolution with the project teamCompletes planners reports and monthly dashboard requirements on time and actions the outputAbout youA Degree or HND in a relevant subject is desirable, as is Professional membership of one or more of the following: RICS/CIOB/RIBA/ICE/CIBSE.Construction Knowledge - Have a broad knowledge of various construction methods and techniquesRisk and Opportunity - Be able to develop the project time risk strategy and seek opportunityCommercial Knowledge - Have practical experience of various contract and programme/planning requirements within contractCommunication - Active part of the project team with effective communication skills both written and oral.Results Driven - Demonstrates a passion and excitement for their work. Tackle problems head on and work to resolve without delayAdaptability - Learns quickly and adapt positively to changing business and customer demands.
