Town Planner - York (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)

I''m currently working with a highly respected, independent planning and rural consultancy that is looking to appoint a talented Town Planner to join its growing team based in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who is keen to work on a diverse portfolio of rural, residential, and strategic development projects across the UK.

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination. You''ll be working closely with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, supporting clients that range from private landowners to developers and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals
• Undertaking site appraisals and planning research
• Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients
• Managing projects and liaising with stakeholders, local authorities, and consultants
• Supporting senior colleagues on complex and strategic planning projects

I''m keen to speak with candidates who are:

• MRTPI qualified (or working towards chartership)
• Educated to degree level in Town Planning or a related discipline
• Experienced in the UK planning system (private or public sector)
• A strong communicator with excellent report-writing skills
• Proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage multiple projects
