Job Title: Senior P6 Planner / Project Controls Lead

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Planner to join our growing project controls and delivery specialist firm in the Bristol area.
In this role, you will lead the development, critical analysis, and ongoing control of complex, multi-million-pound engineering, construction, or infrastructure programs. Acting as a trusted expert, you will work closely with clients, main contractors, and project leaders to turn high-level vision into robust, executable, and fully integrated schedules.
Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Management: Build, maintain, and baseline logic-linked Primavera P6 schedules from preliminary design through to commissioning and handover.

Progress Monitoring & Earned Value: Track progress, conduct Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis, and evaluate critical path impact to proactively identify risks and delays.

Risk & Delay Mitigation: Perform Quantitative Schedule Risk Analysis (QSRA), evaluate delay scenarios, and assist in clear impact assessments for change control and claims mitigation.

Client & Stakeholder Reporting: Present clear, high-level dashboards, Milestone Trend Analysis, and S-Curves to project directors and external clients.

Work Breakdown Structure (WBS): Define and maintain robust WBS, Cost Breakdown Structure (CBS), and Resource Loading models across diverse project workstreams.

Mentorship: Provide technical guidance to mid-level planners and site teams on best-practice P6 setup and project controls governance.
Key Requirements & Qualifications

Technical Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6 (Professional / Enterprise) with demonstrable experience building logic-driven, resource-loaded schedules from scratch.

Experience: 6+ years of dedicated planning/scheduling experience within major UK sectors (e.g., Infrastructure, Energy, Defense, Water, or Commercial Construction).

Industry Standards: Strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contract forms (specifically Option A/C Clause 31 & 32 schedule management), Earned Value Analysis, and Critical Path Method (CPM).

Analytical Skills: Aptitude for critical path analysis, resource leveling, and scenario modeling to drive proactive decision-making.

Communication: Exceptional client-facing skills with the ability to articulate technical schedule issues to non-planning stakeholders clearly.

Location & Security: Based in or within easy commute of Bristol with flexibility for local client site visits.-
