Senior Planner

A well-established contractor is seeking an experienced Senior Planner to support the delivery of major rail and associated civil engineering works across London and the South East.

This is a key role within an integrated project team, responsible for leading planning activities across complex, multi-disciplinary infrastructure schemes including bridges, structures, earthworks, and station upgrades.

Projects are varied in scale and complexity and may include heavy civil engineering works, structural packages, utilities infrastructure, transport-related schemes and associated enabling works.

Key Responsibilities for Senior Planner:

• Develop, manage and update detailed project programmes using Primavera P6

• Lead collaborative planning sessions with delivery and commercial teams

• Establish construction methodologies, logic sequences and resource loading

• Monitor critical path activities and key milestones, driving mitigation strategies

• Review and integrate subcontractor programmes into the master schedule

• Produce progress reports, lookaheads and programme impact assessments

• Support change management in line with NEC contractual requirements

• Attend site and stakeholder meetings to gather live progress information

• Promote high planning standards and digital planning best practice

Experience Required for Senior Planner:

• Proven experience as a Planner or Senior Planner on major rail and civil engineering or infrastructure projects
• Experience supporting or leading QSRA processes

• Background in sectors such as rail,heavy civils,-utilities, highways or other regulated environments

• Advanced Primavera P6 capability

• Strong understanding of NEC contracts and programme control

• Confident communicator able to challenge and influence delivery teams

• Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Civil Engineering, Construction or related discipline
