SENIOR PLANNER / BUYER
HYBRID BASED SCOTTISH BORDERS - ONSITE MIN 3 DAYS/WEEK - SALARY £40-50,000 PLUS BENEFITS
Based in the beautiful Scottish Borders (circa 1 hour south of Edinburgh), Grw Talent''s client is a well-established global manufacturer of pre-connectorised, blown fibre cable, and ducted network solutions and is at the forefront of the fibre-to-the-X industry. They have two sites in Scotland and form part of an international business stretching into the USA and Middle-East. The group is undergoing extensive growth and change right now. To help facilitate this, they now need to recruit a Senior Planner/Buyer. In this role you will be reporting to the Supply Chain Development Director.
We are looking for a proven Materials / Production Planner / Buyer. Ideally, you are educated to degree calibre and/or hold relevant professional CIPS qualifications. Candidates will have worked in a volume driven production / manufacturing environment and ideally will have first hand experience using SAP ERP (or other relevant ERP systems) platforms to manage the procurement and planning functions. You are highly experienced in sourcing, negotiation and purchase order management, part set-up, including MRP parameters and master data control, optimisation of stock and setting policies and the management of suppliers and driving on-time delivery. In this role you will be involved in material management - planning, purchasing, inventory, cost management. Also needed are cost control and cost reduction skills.
You''ll need leadership skills, teamwork and communication along with problem solving, determination and analytical and structured thinking. Project and supplier management skills in a manufacturing / industrial business environment is important in this role.
Give the role is based across two sites in the Scottish Borders, the client will need presence on site. They are open to a hybrid working style, where you can work from home (possibly Monday and Friday) and be onsite Tues-Thurs inclusive. Your base salary of £40-50,000 is supplemented by a good range of benefits, career development, training and the chance to join a friendly and committed team and culture.
