Senior Pharmacy Assistant - Technical Services

Overview
The post involves preparing a variety of medicines aseptically for patients in a controlled manufacturing environment and pre-packing medicines in the Orsett pre-pack Unit. The role requires accuracy, efficiency and strict adherence to procedures, with cleaning of the area as an essential part of the duties.Responsibilities
Prepare medicines aseptically for patients and pre-pack products in the pre-pack Unit.Work accurately, efficiently and follow standard operating procedures at all times.Maintain cleanliness of the work area.Supervise pharmacy assistants on a daily basis and provide support to Technicians.Meet the highest standards of discipline, personal hygiene and attention to detail due to the critical nature of the work.Carry out all work following standard operating procedures.Maintain competency in compounding, assembly, labeling and accuracy checking of aseptic/over-labelled and repack products.Compounding of all preparations dispensed within aseptic services.Prepare and calculate worksheets, transcribing patient information and doses from Chemocare.Assist with the training of pharmacy assistants and other less experienced staff.Qualifications and Experience
NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Service Skills and BTEC Level 2 Extended Certificate in Pharmacy Services or GPhC approved equivalent (or be willing to work towards this qualification).GCSE English Language and Mathematics at a minimum of Grade C/4 (or equivalent).Previous experience within a Pharmacy is essential.Selection Process and Notes
