Location: Longbow, Shrewsbury

Salary:  Actual Pro-rata Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum (dependent upon qualifications and experience)

Vacancy Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 3pm) – 1 day WFH

About Us:

Shropdoc is a not-for-profit company established in 1996. We provide oncology and haematology telephone triage services for patients receiving treatment from the Royal Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals and across Lancashire. We also provide urgent primary care services for patients across Powys.

 About the role:

Working as part of our small, collaborative People team, you will provide practical HR advice and support to managers and colleagues, contribute to employee relations activity and help strengthen learning, development and manager capability across Shropdoc.

Based at our head office in Shrewsbury, you will join our small, collaborative People team. This varied, hands-on role will suit someone who enjoys working closely with managers, supporting colleagues and translating good People practice into positive outcomes.

About you:

We are looking for an experienced HR professional who can bring strong core HR knowledge, sound judgement and a practical, people-focused approach. You will be confident providing advice to managers, handling employee relations matters and supporting colleagues through a range of people-related issues.

You will also have an interest in learning and development, with the ability to help managers build their confidence and capability through effective training, coaching and support.

You will be someone who:

• Has solid experience across the core HR function, including employee relations and providing advice to managers.
• Communicates confidently and builds positive working relationships at all levels.
• Can handle sensitive and sometimes challenging situations with professionalism, empathy and sound judgement.
• Has an interest in learning and development and supporting manager capability.
• Is organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment.
• Uses People data and information effectively to identify themes, support decision-making and improve practice.
• Works collaboratively and understands the importance of an integrated People approach.
• Is committed to continuous improvement and finding practical ways to make a positive difference.

Experience or knowledge of payroll and health and safety would be an advantage and would add valuable breadth across the wider People function. The relevant team members will remain the subject-matter experts, but experience in these areas would complement your core HR expertise and strengthen your application.
