Role Overview

We are seeking a proactive and experienced

Senior People Advisor

to join our Nottingham-based team. This is a

generalist role

covering the full breadth of People team activities, including colleague relations, recruitment, performance management, learning and development, and People projects. You’ll play a key role in supporting our people strategy and driving continuous improvement across the colleague lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day People support and guidance to managers and colleagues across all departmentsManage colleague relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, and absence managementSupport recruitment activities including job design, interviewing, and onboardingLead and contribute to People projects (e.g., wellbeing, engagement, DEI, policy reviews)Support performance management and development conversationsMaintain and update People systems and ensure data accuracyAssist with compensation and benefits queries and annual review processesCollaborate with the wider People team on initiatives that enhance colleague experienceEnsure compliance with employment law and internal policies

Skills and Experience

Proven experience in a generalist HR/People role (ideally within a fast-paced or scientific/technical environment)Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR/People best practicesExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and work independentlyExperience handling ER cases and supporting managers confidentlyComfortable working with People systems and dataCIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred
