Senior Payroll OfficerLiverpool Hybrid to £45, hours per weekAre you an experienced payroll professional looking for a role where you can take full ownership of an in-house payroll function?An established organisation is recruiting a Senior Payroll Officer to manage its monthly payroll for around 500 employees. This is a standalone, senior position offering autonomy, responsibility and the opportunity to improve payroll processes and controls.The role begins as a three-month temporary contract, with the intention of becoming permanent. Hybrid working is available.Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver the monthly UK payroll from start to finishProcess starters, leavers, pay changes, deductions and statutory paymentsValidate HR information and investigate discrepanciesProduce payslips, reports and third-party payment schedulesComplete PAYE, National Insurance and HMRC submissionsManage year-end payroll activities and statutory returnsAdminister pension auto-enrolment, re-enrolment and contributionsComplete monthly reconciliations and maintain payroll controlsHandle employee and manager queries confidentiallyMaintain accurate, secure and audit-ready recordsSupport internal and external auditsRecommend and implement process and reporting improvementsSkills and ExperienceYou will need substantial end-to-end UK payroll experience, combined with strong knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and pension legislation.
