About the Role:
Our client is seeking an experienced Environmental Assessment Consultant to lead and manage a diverse portfolio of projects across infrastructure, development and environmental sectors. This role offers the opportunity to work across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage feasibility and planning through to consenting, delivery and construction support.
The successful candidate will provide technical leadership across Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA), Sustainability Appraisals (SA) and wider sustainability and environmental frameworks, including BREEAM. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for clients.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and deliver Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA), Strategic Environmental Assessments (SEA) and Sustainability Appraisals (SA).
- Apply sustainability assessment frameworks including BREEAM where relevant.
- Manage environmental consenting and permitting activities.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including ecology, landscape, heritage, stakeholder engagement and engineering specialists.
- Manage projects to ensure delivery against programme, budget, quality and health and safety requirements.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support business development activities including bid and tender preparation.
- Mentor and develop junior team members.
- Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement initiatives.
What Our Client is Looking For:
- Demonstrable experience delivering EIA, SEA and Sustainability Appraisal projects.
- Experience or understanding of sustainability assessment frameworks, including BREEAM.
- Strong project management and client-facing consultancy experience.
- Experience working within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Commercial awareness and programme management skills.
- Experience preparing bids and tender submissions.
- Strong understanding of environmental legislation, planning policy and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Eligibility:
- Degree in Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Geography, Planning or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Right to work in the UK.
- Professional membership desirable.
- Chartered status or working towards Chartership advantageous.
