We are currently seeking experienced Operating Department Practitioners and Anaesthetic Nurses to come and join our friendly and dynamic team here within Cardio Thoracic Theatres and the Cath Labs at Wythenshawe hospital.We will provide you with the support and guidance to succeed, along with a comprehensive training package to the successful applicant when you join this fast-paced environment.We are the heart of Manchester, providing routine cardio thoracic surgery along with some of the most complex cardiac procedures, we are also the north west Heart and Lung transplantation centre.You will be joining a multi-disciplinary team that is expanding.Development opportunities for CPD and in house training, running alongside yearly development reviews.Cardio Thoracic Theatres/Catheter lab experience is desirable but not a necessity as full training will be given.Minimum 2 years experience as a ODP/Anaesthetic nurse in an NHS acute setting is essential.18 months minimum post Anaesthetic course for nurses.Main duties of the job
Provide safe and effective anaesthetic assistance for elective, emergency, and transplant surgeriesRotate between Cardio Thoracic Theatres ,
Catheter Labs , and
Transplant ServicesParticipate in the provision of 24/7 anaesthetic cover , including on-call shifts as requiredWork closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver seamless perioperative careAssist in the preparation, checking, and maintenance of anaesthetic equipment and drug stocksMaintain accurate documentation and adhere to infection control and patient safety policiesContribute to audit, quality improvement, and teaching activities within the departmentAbout us
