Senior IT Network and Infrastructure Engineer West Wales (office-based, with occasional cover at a nearby secondary site) £48,000 per annum (some flexibility for the right candidate) What You''ll Do:Take ownership of the organisation''s network and infrastructure across a busy on-site environmentDesign, implement and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN and VPN solutionsConfigure and manage routers, switches, firewalls and load balancersLead network upgrades, migrations and infrastructure improvement projectsDeliver secure remote access (VPN, IPsec, SSL/TLS, SSH)Drive network security best practice including firewall rules, IDS/IPS, encryption and PKIMonitor network performance, capacity and security and troubleshoot complex issuesSupport disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network servicesManage patching, configuration backups and documentationProvide technical guidance and support to a junior IT support colleagueParticipate in on-call support and incident response as requiredWhat You''ll Bring:Proven experience designing and supporting enterprise-level networksStrong knowledge of routing and core network services (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Solid network security experience (firewalls, VPNs, encryption standards)Experience working in on-prem / operational environments where uptime mattersWindows Server experienceVirtualisation exposure (VMware vSphere or similar) is highly beneficialCertifications such as CCNP/CCIE, JNCIP (or equivalent) are advantageousComfortable working ..... full job details .....
