This role is with a US FMCG brand operating in the UK market as a challenger in its category (chilled and ambient drinks). It is an SME setup in the UK with a lean team, but with the stability, resources and finances of a bigger business behind it. The UK team has autonomy and opportunities to influence NPD locally, with local manufacturing and a focus on wellbeing and work-life balance in a high-performance environment.Position Summary
The UK team seeks a highly motivated, experienced Grocery Senior National Account Manager to deliver revenue, trade spend and profit targets for a portfolio of customers – Sainsbury’s, Asda and Morrisons. You will be a key client-facing brand ambassador with an entrepreneurial spirit, analytical mentality, and the ability to use data and insights to develop customer-specific strategies to drive distribution and positive sales results. You will build long-term partnerships that deliver for both customers and the business.Accounts : Sainsbury’s, Asda and MorrisonsLocation : West London (Hybrid 2-3 days a week in office)Key Responsibilities
Deliver revenue and profit targets.Develop and execute joint business plans (JBPs) for your customers.Manage trade spend and effectiveness to deliver projected growth.Lead and develop existing customer relationships towards longer-term strategic planning objectives.Create a clear customer contact strategy and coordinate with UK and US teams to deliver outstanding results.Understand customer needs and category objectives to drive growth in a commercially sustainable way.Execute shopper plans across the shopper journey and collaborate with the marketing team.Launch NPD exceptionally and be seen as best in class by customers.Achieve forecast and planning accuracy targets.Drive continuous improvement and act as a catalyst for change; demonstrate sales leadership.People management of a direct report (flexible with experience).Solid experience with UK Top 4 grocery customers and a track record of success.PandL and JBP management.Exhibit initiative, proactive communication, and collaborative cross-functional work.Influence internally and externally with credibility.Track record of launching products and executing to high standards.Creative, positive mindset to overcome challenges and objections; hands-on in a fast-paced environment.Strategic thinker prioritising opportunities based on commercial acumen and analytics.Qualifications / Requirements
Top 4 Grocery experience is a must-have; ideally including Sainsbury’s.Classic commercial training from a larger FMCG business or graduate scheme, with SME/challenger experience preferred.Ability to work in a lean, fast-paced environment with autonomy and accountability.Strong commercial and analytical skills; proven ability to use data to drive decisions.Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.Seniority and Employment
