Senior Mechanical / Structural Engineer

Our client, a leading organisation within the defence, security and maritime sectors, is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Structural Engineer for a permanent position based at the Haslar Marine Technology Park in Gosport. The role involves delivering structural design and mechanical engineering projects for submarine propulsors and complex multi-material assemblies used in demanding environments.Key Responsibilities:Lead the design and analysis of mechanical components, structures and assemblies from concept through to testing and productionProvide senior engineering expertise and sound technical judgement when solving complex engineering problemsPlan and deliver technical work packages, collaborating with project management and multidisciplinary engineering teamsSupport the development of complex metallic and composite structures for maritime and defence applicationsWork with safety engineering and other functions to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, company and project-specific requirementsDevelop engineering capability by mentoring colleagues and sharing specialist knowledge across technical communitiesApply effective governance and act as a peer or independent reviewer for suitable engineering programmesIdentify hazards and promote safe working practices across projects and technical activitiesJob Requirements:Strong knowledge of mechanical and structural engineering, including design processes and manufacturing principlesExperience designing structures to ..... full job details .....
