This is a varied position for an experienced Mechanical Fitter or Technician who enjoys getting hands-on with machinery, diagnosing faults and carrying out high-quality mechanical rebuilds. You''ll split your time between precision workshop overhauls and field-based service, installation and breakdown work. The role would suit someone from a heavy engineering, industrial machinery, machine tool, recycling, quarrying or similar mechanical background who is comfortable working independently and solving complex mechanical problems. Senior Mechanical Fitter ResponsibilitiesStrip, inspect, repair and rebuild industrial machinery and mechanical equipment.Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out root-cause investigations.Work on rotating and vibratory equipment, gearboxes, pumps and bespoke machinery.Carry out precision fitting, bearing replacement, alignment and mechanical sealing work.Use micrometres, verniers, dial test indicators and other precision measuring equipment.Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics and manufacturer manuals.Complete machinery installations, commissioning and service work at customer sites.Support planned overhauls alongside reactive breakdown and repair ..... full job details .....
