Green Scout is delighted to be partnering with a leading multidisciplinary building services engineering consultancy to recruit an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer.

The Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality mechanical building services designs across a range of exciting projects. You will work closely with clients, project teams, and junior engineers, taking ownership of project delivery while supporting the technical development of colleagues.
This role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to be involved from concept design through to project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage selected projects as Project Leader.
- Collaborate as part of multidisciplinary project teams.
- Attend client meetings and deliver technical presentations.
- Drive technical excellence within the mechanical engineering team.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships.
- Support business growth by delivering exceptional client service.
- Work across a broad range of technically challenging projects and sectors.
- Participate in all project stages from feasibility and concept through to completion.
- Mentor and support junior engineers.
- Produce and review engineering calculations, specifications, reports, and technical documentation.
- Coordinate designs using industry-standard software and BIM processes.
About You
We are looking for a motivated and technically capable engineer who is passionate about sustainable building services design and enjoys working collaboratively within a dynamic consultancy environment.
Essential Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards chartership).
- Candidates with HNC/HND qualifications and relevant industry experience will also be considered.
- Minimum 3 to 4 years'' post-qualification experience within building services design.
- Strong knowledge of UK Building Regulations and relevant British and European Standards.
- Experience using industry-standard software, including:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- Revit
- Amtech
- Relux/DIALux
- Strong understanding of HVAC systems and mechanical building services design.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Healthcare Technical Memoranda (HTMs).
- Membership of relevant professional bodies such as CIBSE or IET.
- Understanding of HV/LV systems.
- Experience integrating renewable energy and low-carbon technologies.
- Working knowledge of BREEAM.
- Appreciation of electrical building services engineering to facilitate multidisciplinary coordination.
