Responsibilities and duties of the Senior Mechanical Engineer role

Within the role you will:

• Lead and manage mechanical design projects from concept through to completion
• Act as a key client interface, building and maintaining strong working relationships
• Develop design briefs, project-specific criteria, and cost-effective engineering solutions
• Oversee tender processes, budgets, and commercial aspects of project delivery
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams while ensuring quality of design and installation
• Support and mentor junior engineers while contributing to continuous improvement and technical excellence

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Strong experience in mechanical design within the Building Services sector
• Proven ability to manage projects and lead design delivery
• Knowledge of current British Standards and industry regulations
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to produce and review technical calculations, drawings, and specifications
• Strong understanding of multidisciplinary coordination within construction projects
