Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

We re currently recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business in the Midlands.This is a hands-on technical role within a small engineering team, designing bespoke production equipment and machinery from initial concept through to final design, procurement and build.The role would suit an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer who enjoys problem solving, machine design and working on projects from scratch, while also having the experience and confidence to act as a technical lead and support more junior members of the team.The RoleDesign bespoke mechanical plant, machinery and production equipment from concept to completion.Produce detailed 3D designs using Autodesk Inventor.Create manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and technical documentation.Design and develop pneumatic and hydraulic systems.Work across complete production lines as well as individual assemblies and components.Ensure designs meet relevant UKCA, CE and machinery standards.Lead technical discussions and design reviews.Provide technical guidance and mentoring to other Mechanical Designers.Liaise with customers, suppliers, electrical engineers and production/build teams.Support project planning, costing, quoting and procurement.Manage projects against agreed timescales and budgets.Investigate technical issues and develop practical engineering solutions.Support continuous improvement and engineering department development.Provide ..... full job details .....
