Core Responsibilities for this Senior Mechanical Design Engineer role include: Project Delivery: As Senior mechanical design engineer, lead and oversee special purpose machine projects from order acceptance to final customer handover-on time and within budget. 3D CAD Design: Perform mechanical design, detailing, and 3D modeling (preferably Solid Edge) for multiple simultaneous projects. Design Reviews and Approvals: Organize internal design reviews and secure formal customer Design Pass Off. Documentation and Compliance: Create Bill of Materials (BOMs), compile Technical Construction Files (TCFs), and perform risk assessments to ensure CE marking and Machinery Directive compliance. Supplier and Cost Management: Negotiate with suppliers for cost-effective components and maintain strict adherence to project budgets. Cross-Functional Support: Partner closely with electrical engineers, direct machine fitters during the build, and mentor junior team members.
