This a fantastic opportunity to take hold of the whole design process and ownership. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be: Leading design and development of mechanical systems and components. Take designs from requirements capture through to production. Produce clear, accurate CAD models, drawings, and technical specifications. Mechanical analysis (structural, tolerance, etc.) Selecting appropriate materials and manufacturing processes. Building and testing of prototypes. Skills and experience required for the Senior Mechanical Design Engineer: Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or similar). Strong experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing environment. Confident using SolidWorks CAD to produce production-ready designs. Good understanding of materials and manufacturing processes. Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues in plain terms.
