Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

OLG Recruitment are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for our client located in Gainsborough. This role is temp to perm; you will be working full-time hours based on-site. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be a leader of a small project team, you will primarily focus on designing robotic packaging systems. We are looking for a capable, creative, and self-motivated professional who can mentor and guide junior engineers to success in this field. You should expect to lead the design process from concept to production. You will need to lead design reviews with the larger team and often the customer ensuring that all the technical requirements of the project are met. Responsibilities Understand and implement the technical requirements and scope of work for each project. Collaborate with project managers, project engineers, the production department, and customers in a professional and effective manner. Adhere to project schedules and budgets while working on multiple projects simultaneously. Design robot cells, end-of-arm tooling, and Conveyors and Feeders within the cell. Select and specify robots and other cell equipment. Able to carry out sizing calculations for motors, gearboxes, shafts, belts etc. Generate detailed and assembly drawings of custom equipment, including end-of-arm tools, robot frames, conveyors, and feed systems.
