Senior Mechanical Design Engineer Leamington Spa, Warwickshire £45,000 - £65,000 + benefits This role involves supporting the design and development of electric propulsion systems for a variety of applications. It will involve integration of EV systems, as well as packaging and enclosure design for electrical, electronic and mechanical components. It will also involve design and analysis of components in support of electric motor design and development. Senior Mechanical Design Engineer candidates will need: Excellent experience of 2D and 3D design using high-end CAD tools (e.g. Catia, NX, Creo) Demonstrable CAE experience (thermal, stress, structural or NVH analysis) Experience of rugged design (protecting against water ingress, shock, vibration, extreme temperature) Product application experience Experience of the mechanical design / packaging of relevant components (e.g. power converters, inverters, electronics, electric motors, etc) OR Mechanical design of electric motor components (stator, rotor, bearing systems, etc) As a senior engineer you will engage with customers to advise on and agree product requirements, design and develop solutions, taking designs from concept, through to prototype (A sample) and even supporting volume production. You will be able to work as part of a team, owning project deliverables and work packages. Technical leadership / mentoring experience would be preferable.
