FC Engineering Recruitment is working with an established engineering business in-Newport-who are looking to recruit a-Mechanical Design Engineer-to join their engineering team.

This is an opportunity for a mechanical design engineer to work on a range of engineering projects, developing and improving mechanical products and systems from concept through to manufacture.

As a-Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components, assemblies and products.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Producing detailed-3D CAD models and engineering drawings

• Developing mechanical designs from initial concept through to manufacture

• Designing components, assemblies and mechanisms

• Producing manufacturing drawings, specifications and Bills of Materials

• Working closely with manufacturing and production teams

• Supporting prototype development, testing and design improvements

• Reviewing and modifying existing designs where required

• Ensuring designs meet relevant engineering and quality requirements

• Working with suppliers and other departments to resolve technical issues

• Contributing to continuous improvement and new product development

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a-Mechanical Design Engineer-or similar

• A relevant mechanical engineering qualification or equivalent experience

• Strong experience using-3D CAD

• Experience producing detailed engineering drawings

• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering principles

• Experience designing mechanical components and assemblies

• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

• Good communication and organisational skills

• The ability to manage your own workload and work to project deadlines

Experience within a-manufacturing or engineering environment-would be advantageous.
