About the Role
Based in Montrose, this permanent post concerns the design and development of subsea choke and valve systems for demanding offshore conditions. The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will produce specifications and documentation, lead verification, validation and performance analysis, and maintain product standards across multiple projects. Collaboration with cross-functional colleagues to improve performance and manufacturability is central, alongside technical support for manufacturing and resolution of engineering queries. Candidates need a mechanical engineering degree or similar, plus proven experience with subsea chokes and valves. The role carries a salary of 42,000 to 85,000 per annum, offers mentoring duties and requires strong project management skills to deliver quality outputs on schedule.

Responsibilities
Design and develop subsea choke and valve systems, including specifications and documentation
Lead verification, validation, and performance analysis activities
Establish and maintain product standards across projects
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve performance and manufacturability
Provide technical support to manufacturing and resolve engineering issues
Manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality outputs on time
Mentor junior engineers and support team development
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Proven experience in subsea chokes and valves within the energy sector
Strong knowledge of subsea production systems and industry standards
Experience with CAD and engineering systems
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Hybrid working (4 days office and 1 day remote)
