GBP 55,000 - GBP 65,000 / yearDescriptionWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our business as we continue to scale.This role will be responsible for defining optimal design solutions and physical systems that integrate with sophisticated electro-magnetic devices.Who we areENODA''s world-class team are building the first truly decentralized, intelligent energy system that will reshape how we generate, store, and distribute energy.Foundational to our holistic and integrated platform approach, the Enoda PRIME Exchanger, is first-of-a-kind dynamic power flow hardware designed to maintain "on-target" frequency and voltage, increasing grid efficiency and capacity for distributed energy sources like renewables and EVs.Enoda ENSEMBLE is our ecosystem co-ordinator of ENODA and third-party assets, able to forecast, aggregate, and bid capacity in real time, functioning as a networked "operating system" for the electrical grid.This is more than simply managing electricity flow. It is about creating the foundational system to prepare for a radically more capable, prosperous, and intelligent future.Check out the ENODA YouTube channel to learn more about us.You''ll spend your time:Translating functional and non functional requirements into sophisticated conceptual designs, ensuring adherence to regional design codesDesigning and analysing mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD and FEA software toolsConducting comprehensive structural, thermal and dynamic analyses to optimise product performance and reliabilityPerforming detailed failure mode and fatigue life assessments to identify potential weaknesses and ensure long term robustness under operational loadsUtilising simulation tools to generate highly accurate static and dynamic models encompassing (but not limited to) mechanical, acoustic, thermal, electromagnetic radiation (EMR), noise, vibration and harshness (NVH) characteristicsApplying advanced thermal analysis techniques, including transient and steady state heat and mass transfer modelling, combined CFD analysis of traditional and phase change cooling methodsCollaborating with design engineers to integrate CAD design and FEA analysis seamlessly into the product development process, providing recommendations for vibration damping, fatigue mitigation or thermal optimisationGenerating technical reports and presentations to effectively communicate analysis results, insights and recommendations to all stakeholdersDesigning robust inspection and testing plans, and actively participate in laboratory and field based testing of systems, ensuring close correlation with simulation results and hardware performanceFostering a collaborative environment by acting as a role model and mentor, providing guidance on CAD design, FEA modelling, analysis techniques and result interpretation to team members and colleaguesThe key experience we''re looking for:Proven track record of success as a Mechanical Engineer in a relevant fieldProficiency in SolidWorks modelling, Ansys simulation packages and Windchill PLMAdditional expertise in 2D and 3D drawing for complex, regulated systemsSolid understanding and practical application of design engineering principles and requirements analysisIn depth knowledge of static and dynamic simulation modelling, coupled with strong capabilities in vibration and harmonics analysis, fatigue life prediction and thermal performance modellingDemonstrated experience applying failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) and fatigue analysis to mechanical systemsMaster''s Degree in mechanical engineering or a closely related fieldThe following would be advantageous:Experience working within a highly regulated industryProven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlinesExperience with experimental vibration and fatigue testing, modal analysis, and thermographyWhat we offer:Salary: GBP 55K - GBP 65K dependent on skills and experiencePrivate Medical InsuranceFlexible Pension policy tailored to your requirements33 days annual leave + Holiday purchase/sell schemeDental cash-back schemeCycle-to-Work schemeSeason travel ticket loanEnhanced company sick pay and Income ProtectionLife AssuranceThis role is based onsite at Quartermile in ..... full job details .....
