Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Role overviewLead Manufacturing Engineer in NW London, responsible for owning a busy manufacturing area and shaping its future within a high-mix, low-to-medium volume electronics or device assembly environment. This hands-on role combines technical leadership with the authority to drive strategy, optimise processes, and influence senior leaders to deliver tangible business impact.

This position sits within a growing business that blends cutting-edge product development with high-mix, low-to-medium volume manufacturing. You will work with cross-functional teams to optimise processes, support new product launches, and lead continuous improvement initiatives that make a real difference.

Responsibilities

Own the manufacturing area end-to-end, from process design to execution and improvement, leading NPI projects and turning prototypes into optimised production processes.

Implement APQP, PFMEA, control plans and capability studies to ensure product quality.

Drive Lean and Six Sigma initiatives to improve efficiency, yield, and cost-effectiveness.

Influence board-level decisions with clear strategy and data-backed recommendations.

Solve complex production challenges and implement ideas on the shop floor.

Collaborate with RandD, Quality, Production and Supply Chain to deliver results.

What we’re looking for

10–12 years’ experience in electronics or device assembly manufacturing

Proven track record in NPI, APQP, and continuous improvement

Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma (Green Belt or higher preferred)

CAD proficiency (SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and ERP/MES systems experience

Ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead change without direct line management

Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or above)

Familiarity with ISO 9001, 13485, or IATF 16949

ERP/MES or manufacturing analytics experience
