Overview

We are looking for an experienced Newcastle based Senior Manager to join our thriving team. You will work closely primarily with our London and India teams, with opportunities to support wider teams in Germany, Netherlands, Switzerland, Hungary and France. As part of a diverse team, you will gain experience across services, further develop your skills and have day-to-day contact with senior team members at our clients.Responsibilities

Work with the Partner group to provide senior support to large pursuit and proposal activities, in response to client RFPs. This includes leading global pricing exercises, involvement in strategic negotiation and being a part of EY''s presentation team at client pitchesSupport development of the client business "case for change"Identify opportunities for additional EY services and/or extensions to EY outsourcing services for existing EY clientsOwn and drive your own sales pipeline across mid-sized/smaller pursuitsContract management: Manage a number of large global compliance contracts, with client interface and in a supervisory service delivery roleProactively manage service delivery risk across those contracts through strong governance and escalation processesDevelop and maintain relationships with key contract stakeholders (internal and external) across multiple jurisdictions and ensuring effective and timely communicationManage contract governance including adherence to agreed quality and risk processes and proceduresManage contract reporting against SLAs and KPIs, ensuring timely resolution of issuesProvide guidance and support to peers, colleagues and clients on contractual issues, and oversee local fee and scope negotiationsSet clear objectives and expectations for junior team members including day-to-day responsibility for the management of offshore team membersFinance: Review budgets and resourcing requirements regularly with responsibility for meeting margin targets across engagementsLead the billing and cash collection process across your portfolioQuality and Risk Management: Support the Engagement Partner on all QRM matters, overseeing implementation and adherence to agreed processes, procedures and timetablesLiaise with Global and Tax QRM and legal teams in the resolution of client service management issuesMaintain the specified contractual framework and supporting agreements for all engagementsDetailed scoping and process assessments: Manage changes to scope and the resulting fee impact including leading client/internal negotiations as neededReview and suggest improvements to compliance and reporting processes considering data sources, hand-off points and controlCompliance methodology: Share successful tools, techniques and approaches with other team members; project managing business development projectsStrong client relationship management skills with ability to develop quality outputs to clientsNegotiation skills, able to sustain opinion and handle challengesProcess design skillsBusiness development skills, able to identify and convert opportunities to sell workEffective time management, ability to remain calm under pressure to meet deadlinesExperience of coaching and developing more junior staffEnsure delivery of quality work and take day-to-day leadership of delivery teamChange oriented with a flexible approachInnovative mindset with a focus on problem solvingQualifications

A degree level qualification or equivalentA proven work record in a similar environmentExcellent communication skills; both written and verbalExcellent MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint capabilityLanguage skills: Business English as well as German; to support future opportunities in France long-term French speaking skills preferableExperience in Corporate Tax, Indirect Tax or accounting from a professional services firm or in-house teamACA / CA / ATTI / CTA / Tax Inspectors or a breadth of knowledge equivalent to a tax specialist qualification is not essential but welcomeProven project management skills, and an ability to plan and prioritise work, meet deadlines, monitor budgets. A PRINCE2 qualification or similar would be beneficialExperience of managing international projectsExperience in process and technology design is beneficial but not mandatoryProficient multi-tasking abilityAbility to coach more junior team members and add value to the teamExperience with managing teams across multiple jurisdictionsStrong presentation skills and experience in developing and delivering major proposals to clients and targetsStrong client management skillsA commercial mindsetAbout EY
