The OpportunityThis role focuses on exploring accounting, tax and finance knowledge across several countries. You will work with accounting agencies and auditors in the countries where the company has entities. You will coordinate with Booking Holdings and other brands and gain exposure to international accounting and finance. You may learn about our products, workflows, and be part of projects/initiatives. The role may involve implementing new payment methods, processing payments for new products, and designing data flows and workflows for projects.

What you’ll do

Financial Accounts: Provide reports and analyze the company’s financial performance to support management decision-making.

Motivate management accounting/nominal ledger team to take responsibility for accounts input and preparation processes; support career development.

Collaborate with other finance department managers to support overall department goals and objectives.

Advise staff regarding non-routine reporting transactions.

Coordinate with various operations and support units to ensure timely and accurate data for internal and external reporting.

Accounting Controls

Maintain internal control environment in accordance with corporate policy, anti-corruption controls, and SOX requirements, etc.

Review reconciliations of significant account balances (bank accounts daily; fixed assets, debtors and creditors monthly) and report significant exceptions to management.

Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; apply observations and recommendations to operational issues.

Tax

Understand key concepts of corporate income tax, withholding tax, and indirect taxes in foreign jurisdictions where the company has a presence.

Provide information for tax compliance in local and foreign jurisdictions.

Other responsibilities

Work with stakeholders to lead financial reporting and operating functions; assess the impact of company initiatives and projects.

Manage and implement finance and accounting aspects of company initiatives and projects, including requirements, UAT, workflow design, post-go-live support, and troubleshooting.

Identify and drive process and technology improvement opportunities.

Respond to ad-hoc requests and issues; provide oversight, training, and coaching to department staff.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

What you’ll Need to Succeed

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Accounting or Finance.

At least 12 years of experience in finance operations (AP/AR or finance functions) with some management experience.

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills.

Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to think creatively.

Dynamic and able to adapt to a fast-paced environment; energetic, proactive with good communication skills.

Experience in project management.

Fluent in English (spoken and written).

Excellent leadership and team management skills.

Strong presentation skills and proficiency with PowerPoint; ability to create engaging, effective presentations.

Strong computer skills, especially Excel.

Familiar with local/US GAAP and knowledge and compliance in financial and accounting management and internal controls.

Nice to Have

CPA and audit background.

Knowledge of SQL and data analysis tools.
