Senior Machine Learning Scientist
to join our
Data team . This role is ideal for a senior independent doer who has owned the entire ML lifecycle and is ready to ship production-grade ML systems from scratch. Please note you must have the right to work in the UK/EU to be considered for this role.What You’ll Be Doing
This is not a research or experimentation role; it’s about building systems that work in the real world and move the needle on customer outcomes and business impact. It is about
building
production ML algorithms that move KPIs .Own the full ML lifecycle: from business problem formulation and algorithm design through to deployment, monitoring, and iteration in productionApply strong classical ML thinking: you are confident in picking the right tool and justifying whyKeep models alive: build monitoring into every deployment (drift detection, retraining, KPI tracking) so models keep delivering value in productionCollaborate deeply with squads: work alongside product managers, engineers, and designers to define KPIs, design data flows, and embed ML into product featuresFrame in business terms: focus on outcomes (profitability, efficiency, waste reduction), not just technical metricsContribute to culture: share learnings, give feedback, and help raise the bar for applied ML at NoryWhat You’ll Bring
Background: Master’s Degree or higher in a STEM subject, with a significant statistics componentFull Lifecycle Ownership: 4+ years of experience taking ML systems from idea through to production in a commercial setting, independently owning the processClassical ML theory depth: time-series forecasting, regression/classification, causal signals, feature engineering, evaluation/monitoring, driftTechnical Proficiency: Strong Python and ML libraries (Scikit-learn, Pandas, LightGBM), plus cloud and data tool knowledge (Snowflake, DBT, Omni)Rigour and Impact: Rigorous statistical and experimental thinking with measurable business outcomesCollaboration: Thrive in collaborative environments, communicate clearly, help improve team outcomesStartup mindset: Fast, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity and multitasking while delivering real impactNice-to-have
Experience in smaller data teams with high ownership cultureExperience with B2B SaaS productsExperience with LLMs is a plus, but this role focuses on forecasting, optimisation, and statistical learningWhat you’ll get in return
