Senior Linux Systems Administrator

Location: Cambridge Salary: 65-75K Employment Type: Full timeAbout the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator with a strong networking background to join our technical team. The ideal candidate will have in-depth experience managing Ubuntu and Debian-based Linux systems, along with a solid understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking in production environments.You will be responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and scalable Linux infrastructure while working closely with network and cloud teams to support business-critical services.Key ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain, and troubleshoot Ubuntu and Debian Linux systemsConfigure and manage network services using IPv4 and IPv6Diagnose and resolve system and network performance issuesImplement and maintain security best practices (firewalls, access controls, patching)Monitor system health, availability, and capacityAutomate routine tasks using scripting (e.g. Bash, Python)Document system configurations, procedures, and changesCollaborate with internal teams to support infrastructure projects and upgradesRequired Skills and ExperienceProven experience as a Linux Systems AdministratorStrong hands-on experience with Ubuntu and DebianSolid understanding of TCP/IP networking, including IPv4 and IPv6Experience with DNS, DHCP, routing, and firewall configurationStrong troubleshooting skills across system and network layersFamiliarity with monitoring and logging toolsAbility to work independently and as part ..... full job details .....
